Twitter user Mark Connolly (@sr_connolly) snapped a photo of a billboard within the Boston city limits that was completely torn apart by the intense wind gusts on Friday, Feb. 3.

"Frigid winds are shredding billboards in Somerville," Connolly wrote.

At the time of Connolly's post, the National Weather Service of Boston estimated wind gusts to be about 40 miles per hour. To add insult to injury, wind chills were recorded at -16 degrees.

The intense weather is expected to persist through Saturday. NWS suggests that people stay inside and bundle up but if you have to go outside, be sure to bundle up and hold onto your hats.
